Projects

Two things I built because the analysis wasn't much use until someone else could open it.

Argentina Informality Dashboard

An interactive tool, built for the ILO and Argentina's labour ministry, that turns two decades of household survey microdata into something a policy officer can actually use: informal employment from 2003 onwards, broken down by sector, province, sex and age, with the time series coded so they can be reproduced each quarter rather than rebuilt by hand.

Built for the ILO. Data from INDEC's Permanent Household Survey (EPH), 2003 onwards.

Araucaria Spotter

A community map of the Araucaria araucana — the monkey puzzle tree — growing outside its native range in the Andes. People record the trees they find; the map shows where the species has travelled. A side project, and the one that taught me the most about building something other people have to be able to use.

Web app, with an Android version on the way.

The dashboard is a large page — it carries the full series rather than calling a server for them — so give it a moment to load on a slow connection.
